Marco Giusti

Marco Giusti is an engineer by profession, a scout by training, a popularizer and activist by passion.

He has been working for over 30 years in a energy utility (Agsm Aim), for many years in the role of director of “Engineering and Research”, the department that creates and uses numerical systems and models of energy network users and designs, develops and builds new renewable energy plants. With this team, supported by passionate partners, he has designed and built wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric plants, such as to guarantee the civil electricity needs of around 150,000 people.

Together with Federico Testa and Giovanni Colombo he is a professor of the course in “Management of Public and Professional Services” at the University of Verona, a course in which ample space is dedicated to the climate emergency and the energy transition.

His scout training and vocation for education motivate him to devote himself to scientific dissemination – on the issues of climate emergency and energy transition – and to activism alongside various environmental movements and associations.

Marco Giusti is the author of the book: “The Urgency of Acting. Why and How to Rapidly Abandon Fossil Fuels“, a concrete Masterplan of how to make a very rapid and integral transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

Lecture: The practical road to the energy transition

Marco will illustrate a Masterplan to decarbonize the Italian energy system, with a mix of actions on the consumption side, with a strong push towards efficiency and electrification and a mix of renewable energy generation technologies.

The proposed mix can guarantee the Italian energy needs throughout the year, seasons, months, weeks and days.
All the technologies and actions proposed are available at now, because the time of action is now.
